Sherry E. Paap, 67, formerly of rural Garden City, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at the Mankato House Health Care Center after a long battle with multiple illnesses.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2007 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Vernon Center, MN. Visitation will be Thursday, July 5, 2007, from 4:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Lake Crystal Mortuary, and one hour before services on Friday at the church.

Sherry was born in 1939 to Rex and Eleanore (Voxland) Day. She was baptized at Holden Lutheran Church in Kenyon and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Vernon Center. She attended Vernon Center Elementary and Garden City High School. She graduated in 1957. Sherry married Don Paap in 1959. Their marriage was blessed with four children. In addition to helping with the family farm, Sherry worked many years at the State Bank of Vernon Center. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her family. Sherry had traveled to 49 states. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, candy making, gardening, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was active in her church's Ladies Aid organization for many years.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Don of Mankato; son, Kevin (Julie) Paap of Garden City; son, Keith (Frances) Paap of Excelsior; daughter, Kari (John) Sehloff of Mankato; and daughter, Kristen (John) Genet of Cottage Grove; ten grandchildren, Matt and Andy Paap; McKenzie and Sam Paap; Jason, Johanna, Katie, and Jonathan Sehloff; and Sarah and Anthony Genet; her sister, Nan (Rich) Davis of St. Charles, MO; sister-in-law, Irma (Mike) McLean of New Ulm; sister-in-law, Annette (Fred) Wulff of New Ulm, and two nieces and three nephews.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents.
