Robert O. Warrant, age 76, of Mankato died Tuesday, June 26, 2007 as the result of an automobile accident near Waterville.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2007 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Mankato with Rev. Roger Knepprath officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, June 29 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to service at church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church or donor's choice.

Robert was born May 16, 1931 to Glenn S. and Dorothea (McTighe) Warrant in rural Kasota. In 1949, he graduated from St. Peter High School, and in 1959 graduated from Mankato College. Robert served his country in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954 during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in the Philippines. On March 25, 1951, Robert married Shirley J. Dallmann at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nicollet. He was employed with Miller Motors in 1949 and in 1964 became a partner with Paul Butzer at Paul's Service Center. In 1974, Robert went into partnership with Art Willaert and changed the name to Tire Associates. Today, the business has branches in Alexandria, Sioux City, IA, Mitchell, SD, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Baraboo, WI. Robert was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Morning and Noon Exchange Clubs, American Legion Post 11, and had served on numerous boards and committees. Robert received the Riverblenders Harmony Award and was inducted into the Mankato Softball Hall of Fame. He loved going to the lake, collecting coins, bowling, and playing cards. Robert has always given to the community as he believed he could never pay back what his community has given to him.

Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley of Mankato; four children, Connie (James) Gullixson of Mankato, Thomas (Lori) Warrant of North Mankato, Tammy (Dwayne) Lee of Rochester, and Julie Warrant of Mankato; eight grandchildren, Brian (Becky) Gullixson, Sarah, Eric, and David Gullixson, Jenny Warrant (fianc", Pat Janzen), John Warrant (fianc", Toni Kopachek), Daniel and Rachel Lee; two great grand-children Mason and Madelyn; brother-in-law, Paul Larson of Amboy; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leslie "Jack" Warrant; sister-in-law, Dorothy Larson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edwin and Cornelia Dallmann.
