Evelyn "Evie" M. Morgan, age 81, of rural Lake Crystal, died Monday, April 27, 2009 at her home.
Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal with Rev. Nancy Dreier officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Lake Crystal Mortuary. Private burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery, rural Mankato.
Evie was born November 17, 1927 to Walter Arthur and Agnes Amelia (Johnson) Seppman in Mankato. She graduated from Mankato High School. Evie was united in marriage to Rodney LeRoy Morgan on November 7, 1953 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato. She was employed by Madsen's Valu Center and NAPA Auto Parts in Mankato, Red Owl and Kevin's Market in Lake Crystal, and as a homemaker on the family farm. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its ladies aid. She was a past Sunday school teacher and superintendent, member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Red Hat Ladies, and a past den mother for the Boy Scouts. She enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing, working for her church, community volunteer work, gardening, mowing her lawn, and watching her grandchildren play sports.
Evie is survived by two children, Denise Morgan-Scearcy and her husband, Larry of Mankato, Scott Morgan and wife, Kristi of Lake Tahoe, Nevada; five grandchildren, Kelsey, Kaley, and Kinzie Scearcy, Jordan and Hunter Morgan; sister-in-law, Dorothy Born of Janesville; and extended family.
Evie was preceded in death by her parents; step mother, Veronica (Stydel); and her husband, Rodney on October 11, 1993.
