Brian Kent Mensing, age 56, died at home in North Mankato Sunday, May 27, 2007 after a lengthy battle with leukemia.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Messiah Lutheran Church, North Mankato with Rev. James Ahlquist, officiating. Private family burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery, rural Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary.

Brian was born September 9, 1950, in Blue Earth, MN to Albert and Vernice (Nagel) Mensing of Delavan, MN, the 2nd of four children. He grew up and attended school in Delavan, graduating in 1968. He attended Mankato Vocational School, first working as a chef for Happy Chef then back to school as an auto mechanic. On January 8, 1972, he married Sandra Anderson and they lived in North Mankato. They were blessed with two sons, Chad and Corey. They moved to Delavan in 1975 where he was co-owner of Tank and Tummy. They moved back to North Mankato in 1988 and worked at Ameripride in Mankato for 14 years. Brian enjoyed the cabin at the lake, fishing, bowling, winter trips, and spending time with his family.

Brian is survived by his wife, Sandi; two sons, Chad Mensing and wife, Joy, and grandsons, Riley and Owen all of Rosemount, Corey Mensing of Apple Valley; mother, Vernice Mensing of Blue Earth; two brothers, Gene Mensing and wife, Judy of Mankato, Chuck Mensing of Blue Earth; sister, Denise Painter and husband, Chris of North Mankato; brother-in-law, Rick Anderson and wife, Shelley of Shakopee; nieces and nephews.

Brian was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
