Curtis V. Sieberg
Curtis Vincent Sieberg, age 80, of Eagle Lake died Monday, May 14, 2007 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato surrounded by his wife and eight children.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 17, 2007 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake with Rev. Robert Schneider and Rev. Syl Brown officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Madison Lake. Visitation will be from 4 " 7 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. prayer service on Wednesday (TODAY) at Mankato Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to ISJ Cancer Unit or All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake.
Curtis was born on July 28, 1926 to Charles and Clothilda (Veigel) Sieberg at home in Blue Earth County. He was baptized, received first communion, and was a confirmed member of All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. He graduated from St. Clair High School in 1944. Curtis served his country as an infantryman in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Adeline Goettl on October 28, 1952 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. Curtis was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic Aid, Farmers Union, NFO, and the Eagle Lake American Legion. Curtis farmed all of his life and in 2005 his farm became a century farm. He enjoyed being a dairy farmer and spending time with his family.
Curtis is survived by his wife Adeline; eight children, John (Jeanette) Sieberg of Nicollet, Donna (Lenny) Olson of Janesville, Kenneth (Susan) Sieberg of Madison Lake, David (Pam) Sieberg of Buffalo, Beverly (Mike) Peters of Eagle Lake, Bonnie (Ryan) Rutgers of Tyler, Peggy (Jon) Tagatz of Lake Crystal, Timothy (Michele) Sieberg of Elko; 17 grandchildren, Jeremy (Carrie) and Angela Sieberg, Jeni and Josh Olson, Kayla, Daniel, and Joey Sieberg, Kati and Chris Sieberg, Alicia and Sara Peters, Megan and Gina Rutgers, Sarah and Emma Tagatz, Jacob and Trevor Sieberg; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Zack Sieberg; siblings, Don (Marilyn) Sieberg of Mankato, Betty Goettl of New Auburn; Tom (Kathy) Sieberg of Eagle Lake; two aunts, Phyllis Veigel of Mankato, Lorraine Purrier of Mankato; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Stan Goettl.
