Patrick M. Rigdon, age 63, of Mankato, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2007 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Good Thunder, with Rev. Tim Biren officiating. Burial will be in Tivoli Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 " 8 p.m., Friday at St. Theresas Catholic Church in Mapleton. Visitation will be one hour before the service at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Good Thunder on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the MS Society. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Patrick was born on October 13, 1943 to Kenneth and Helen Rigdon in Rockford, IL. He graduated from St. Clair High School in 1961. He married Joan Pemble on November 21, 1964 in Littleton, CO. He was employed with Sterling Stainless Tube Corp. in Englewood, CO from 1965 to 1975 and Smiths Mill Implement from 1976 until his retirement in 2000. He was a board member of Peoples State Bank of Madison Lake. He displayed his many talents in a variety of ways and cherished spending time with his friends and family in both Minnesota and Colorado. He especially loved spending time with his eight grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Joan of 42 years; son, Russ (Linda) Rigdon of Mankato; two daughters, Jeanine (Steve) Casey of Chanhassen and Christine (David) Rietz of Huxley, IA; eight grandchildren, Matthew and Hannah Rigdon, Patrick, Lukas, and Ava Casey, Charlie, Kate, and Meg Rietz; his mother, Helen Rigdon of Good Thunder; 11 siblings, Charles (Arlene) Rigdon of Good Thunder, Colette (Don) Metzger of Stevensville, MI, William (Joann) Rigdon of Mankato, Robert (Sharon) Rigdon of Coon Rapids, James Rigdon of Truth or Consequences, NM, Judy (Ron) Dare of Patterson, CA, Ronald (Conni) Rigdon of Mapleton, Michael (Kathy) Rigdon of Good Thunder, Joyce (Pat) Shain of North Mankato, Ann (Dean) Nickels of Mankato, David (Sharman) Rigdon of Good Thunder; also many nieces and nephews. Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth.
