Wayne Menton, age 80, of Mankato died on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Hillcrest Health Care Center. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Wayne Eichstadt officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 1 from 4-7 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and will also continue one hour prior to services at the church. Burial with military honors will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donors choice.

Wayne was born on April 20, 1927 in Mankato to Frank and Ida (Ehler) Menton. He graduated from Mankato High School and served in the United States Air Force during WWII, stationed in Germany. Wayne was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a life time member of American Legion Post 11. He retired from Continental Can Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cards, woodworking, and spending time with family.

Wayne is survived by his wife Beverly of Mankato; one son Jess (Andrea) Menton of Minnetonka; three daughters: Gail (George) VanVliet of Rancho Santa Fe, CA, Debra (Thomas) Campbell of Edina, and Robin (Mark) Johnson of Minnetonka; five grandsons; one granddaughter; three sisters: Arlene Phillips, Vera (Harold) Phillips, and Eva Pestka; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Stan and Glen; and sister Ethel OConnor.
