Woodrow W. Woody Hansen, age 94 of Mankato, died Sunday, April 15, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Hosanna Lutheran Church, with Rev. Steve Kosberg officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Kasota Hill Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to ISJ Hospice or the American Diabetes Association.
Woodrow was born on March 4, 1913 to Peter and Nellie (DeGroat) Hansen in Springfield. He married Louise Marquardt on June 21, 1936 in Algona, IA. Woodrow served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Woodrow worked in the Tool and Die field and was self employed in construction. He was a member of the Madison Lake American Legion, Elks, and Moose Lodge. Woodrow enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by six children: Boyd (Carol) Hansen of Mankato, Larry Hansen of Seattle, WA, Joanne Kenyon of Mankato, Pete (Sharon) Hansen of Shakopee, Greg (Pat) Hansen of Kasota, and Denise (George) Johnson of Mankato; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Adeline Hansen of Kasota; also many nieces and nephews. Woodrow was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise in 1994; one son, Lynn and his wife, Cile; one granddaughter, Pam; two great-grandsons, Grant Graves and Jacob Olson; and a son-in-law, Harold Kenyon.
