Doris Larson, of Madelia, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at her home, one day short of her 94th birthday.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2007 at Madelia Church of Christ with Pastor Allen Burnham officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Madelia. Visitation will be held from 2 " 5 p.m., Sunday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Doris was born April 12, 1913 to George and Meta (Buck) LaFavor in Mankato. She graduated from Garden City High School. Doris was united in marriage to Sidney Larson on June 23, 1934 in Garden City. They farmed in Ogilvie and Watkins, Minnesota. Doris also worked for Automatic Electric in Mankato, drove truck in the area, and was a homemaker for her family. She and her husband moved to Berryville, AR before returning to Madelia. She was a member of Madelia Church of Christ. Doris enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Doris is survived by her son, Dennis (Sue) Larson of Mankato; grandchildren, Tammy (Jim) Karels, Tess (Jim) Petersen, Tom (Lisa) Larson, Trent (Heather) Larson, Christine Zrust, and Rebecca Fisher; great-grandchildren, Michele, Kara, Christy, Sean, Jimmy, Jessica, Jordan, Logan, Gabby, Jakob, Shelby, Allyson, Caroline, Ethan, Brady, and Tanner; great-great-granddaughter, Naomi; brother, Lyle (Marian) LaFavor of Mankato; two sisters, Gladys Roberts of Garden City, Myrtle Nelson of Hatfield, PA; two sisters-in-laws, Kay LaFavor of Lake Crystal, Dolores LaFavor of Charlotte, NC
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney on March 29, 2007; four brothers, Stanley, Gordon, George, and Merton; great-grandson, Nick.
