Ronald F. Decker, age 64 of Mankato, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Centenary United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dean Wolf officiating. Burial will be held in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.
Ron was born on April 22, 1942 in Rochester to Fred and Elda (Apfel) Decker. He was baptized and confirmed at the Zumbro Lutheran Church. Ron was a 1960 graduate of John Marshall High School in Rochester. He owned and operated his business, SDI Supplies, up until his death. Ron was an avid sports fan, enjoyed playing softball and bowling in his spare time, and watched many different sports games on tv. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a great man and will be truly missed.
Ron is survived by his wife, Sharon of Mankato; parents, Fred and Elda Decker of Rochester; three children, Ron Jr. and Jody Decker of Mankato, Sue and Wayne Darge of North Mankato, John and Jennifer Decker, who are currently stationed in Germany; a stepdaughter, Roxie and Scot Mackey of Sioux Falls; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
