Paul Klages, age 46, of Mankato, died on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital after a 21 year fight with leukemia.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 6 at 11:00 a.m. at North Mankato Mortuary-NORTHVIEW, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato with Rev. Janice Gorman officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 at North Mankato Mortuary-NORTHVIEW.

Paul was born on April 21, 1965 in Mankato to Bryan and Claudia (Tauer) Klages. Paul graduated from Wellcome Memorial High School in 1983 and received an art degree from Mankato State University. He was an angel artist and a motivational speaker. He was in bands and was a chef in the Mankato area for many years. Paul enjoyed fishing and gardening. He had a green thumb, especially with orchids. He enjoyed walking his dog of 15 years, Eli. Paul was a great son, brother and uncle who was loved by his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his parents, Bryan and Claudia Klages of Good Thunder; brothers, Daniel (Cheryl) of St. Clair, Pat (Gina) of Eau Claire, WI, Joseph and his fiance Mona of Good Thunder, and Robert (Molly) of Spearfish, S.D.; sister, Ann (Dan) Hawkes of Madelia; 13 nieces and nephews; and special friend, Eita. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
