Mabel Klaus, age 96 of Mankato, went to be with her Lord on April 29, 2011 at Pathstone Living, Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mankato with Rev. Keith Siverly, officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mabel was born October 21, 1914 to Albert and Ernestina (Kietzer) Urban in Pleasant Mound Township, Blue Earth County, MN. She married Edgar Klaus on May 22, 1938 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Willow Creek. Mabel was a faithful and active member of St. Mark's Ev. Lutheran Church for over 52 years.

Mabel is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Mary Klaus of St. James; a beloved grandson, David Klaus and his girlfriend, Aria McCabe of Mankato; sister, Lorna Pahl of Truman; and many nieces and nephews.

Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar; sister, Mildred Frese; an infant daughter; and two infant granddaughters.

Mabel's Family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Mabel's dear friend, Marcy Timmerman, for the Christian love, care, and kindness she so unselfishly showed Mabel these past many years. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Pathstone Living for the care she received this past year as a resident.
