Bob Lee Fleming, age 74, of Garden City, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato.
Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday at Lake Crystal Mortuary. Visitation will continue one hour before service at the church on Tuesday. Private family burial will be in Garden City Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Garden City Cemetery Association.
Bob was born February 2, 1937 to Albert "Pete" and Bessie (Greenough) Fleming in Vernon Center Township. He graduated from Garden City High School and joined the U. S. Army. Bob was united in marriage to Kathleen Potz on October 16, 1965 in Eagle Lake. He was honorably discharged from the Army in December of 1965 and moved on as a farmer. Bob was a member and President of the Garden City Cemetery Association. He was a longtime board of director of the Garden City Co-op and later the Crystal Co-op. Bob was on the Wellcome Memorial Board of Trustees for many years and was a 4-H Leader for 27 years. He enjoyed animals very much, especially showing miniature horses.
Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathleen of Garden City; his children, Eric (Jennifer) Fleming of Garden City; Adrian (Jessica) Fleming of Good Thunder; Darren (Angie) Fleming of Garden City; four grandchildren, Angel, Cory, Victoria, Jasmine; sister, Darlene Sharp of Amboy; brother, Dale (Connie) Fleming of Austin and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Albert "Pete" and Bessie.
