Clayton Earl Sorgatz, age 82 of Mankato, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at Laurel's Peak in Mankato.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Eagle Lake Church of Christ, with Rev. Jeff Petersen officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary, and will continue one hour before the service at church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Eagle Lake Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Clayton Earl Sorgatz was born to Carl and Rose (Nokes) Sorgatz on April 11, 1929. He served in the US Army. He married Delois Baade on October 31, 1953. Clayton was employed as a welder for North Star Concrete and also owned his own small engine repair shop. He was a member of the Eagle Lake Church of Christ and the American Legion. He also volunteered at the Amboy Fire Department as an EMT. Clayton enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking.
Clayton is survived by six children, Lynn (Linda) Sorgatz of Orfordville, WI, Connie Jo (Brian) Lentz of Good Thunder, Laurel Karsa of Lake City, Mark (Ellen) Sorgatz of Sacred Heart, Rhonda (Charles) Peck of Manchaca, TX, and Edna O'Neil of Cotati, CA; 26 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Jean (Alfred) Rabenhorst of Weslaco, TX, Betty (Myron) Olson of Madelia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delois in 1999; brother, Carl Sorgatz Jr.; and sister-in-law, Rondi Sorgatz.
