Kenneth Richard Doran, age 90, of rural Madison Lake, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Primrose Assisted Living in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Marysburg with Rev. Dennis Backer, officiating. Burial will be in Marysburg Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 Saturday at the church. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth was born January 19, 1921 to William and Alice (Vaughan) Doran in Madison Lake. He graduated from Cleveland High School and attended Mankato Commercial College. Kenneth served his country with the U.S. Army from 1946-47. He farmed his entire life with his brother Robert on their farm on Duck Lake. Kenneth was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, American Legion of Madison Lake, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed traveling and flower gardening.
Kenneth is survived by a sister-in-law, Anne Doran of Mankato; nieces and nephews, Ron (Ellen) Doran of St. Louis Park, Tom (Mary) Doran of Eagan, Sue Doran of Minneapolis, Roberta (Tom) Doran Maki of Columbia Heights and many other nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings, Walter Doran, Marion Ahern, Martha Vadnais, Florence Vadnais, Robert Doran, Helen Doran, and Lucille Doran.
Ken wished to thank all the nurses and doctors at the ISJ dialysis unit and all the staff at Primrose Assisted Living for making his life special during the past eight years.
