Delta V. Kietzer, age 93 of Willow Creek, died Friday, April 3, 2009 at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Willow Creek with Rev. John C. Bennett officiating. Burial will be in North Willow Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or St. John's Lutheran Church. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Delta was born on August 2, 1915 to Edward and Ella (Keehn) Gens in Madelia, MN. She was united in marriage to Harold Kietzer on December 17, 1933. She was a homemaker for her family until the death of her husband. Afterwards, she worked as a nurse's aid at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato for a number of years. She also provided entertainment playing the organ at Norman's Caf" in Amboy and for other functions. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek where she was active with the Ladies Aid and youth groups. Delta enjoyed music, dancing, playing cards, and spending time with others.
She is survived by a daughter, Lorraine Niemeier of Butterfield; son, Ron Kietzer of Willow Creek; four grandchildren, Debra (Jim) Pederson, Corinne (John) Whelan, Colleen (Joe) Bartels, and Curt (Jordan) Kietzer; six great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; four step great-great-grandchildren; sister, Esther Boeck of Madelia; brothers, Donald (Marjorie) Gens of Madelia, and Lorentz Gens of Truman; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Delta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold in 1969; son, Eldon in 2000; son-in-law, Raymond in 2003; daughter-in-law (Ron's wife), Carolyn Walters in 2008.
