Russell D. Szelazek Ellyson, age 57, of Mankato died Monday, March 30, 2009 at his home.

Memorial Gathering 4 p.m., Sunday, April 5 at Celebration Church, 16655 Kenyon Ave., Lakeville. Memorials to Celebration Church or Union Gospel Mission, St. Paul.

Russell was born Nov. 17, 1951, Madison, WI. On March 30, 2009 he lost his race to cancer in Mankato. Completing his life on earth, he was called home to eternity. Welcomed by his Lord and Savior Jesus, along with father, Milton and siblings, Sandra and Wesley. He leaves behind the best mother ever, Muriel; bossy sister, Marcia and Amazing Grace his only niece.

The best years of his adult life were spent as a family man with the love of his life, former wife, Krystyna Szelazek; step daughters, Andrea Fish, Eryka Hosking and their husbands; five step-grandchildren. Truly the happiest time of his life, he so loved them all. Russ a good man with a kind heart will be missed greatly. Those who share knowing Jesus as savior will see him again, in His time.
