DeLoris E. Mether, age 82, of Mankato, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m. at New Creation World Outreach Church with Rev. Dave Laughlin and Rev. Sam Quartey officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and Saturday from 11:30 until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Memorials are preferred to Open Door, VINE, or ISJ Hospice.
DeLoris was born on February 26, 1927 in Minneota, MN to Sieben and Nettie (Fricka) Eilers. DeLoris was united in marriage to Maurice Mether on August 19, 1945 in Canby, MN. They moved to Mankato in 1966. DeLoris was a daycare provider in Mankato for many families from 1970-1990. She was very active in her church and was head of the church prayer chain for many years. DeLoris loved cooking, shopping, embroidery, word finds, family get togethers and holidays, and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
DeLoris is survived by her husband Maurice of Mankato; children: Dan (Lill) Mether of North Mankato, Steve Mether of Mankato, and Becky (Clark) Worden of Minneapolis; grandchildren: Missy (Dean) Olson of Mankato, Julie (Jason) Allen of Chesapeake, VA, Nate Worden of Brooklyn Park, and Lyndsey Worden of Minneapolis; 6 great-grandchildren: Tyler, Cody, and Erin Olson, Daniel Allen, Brady Worden, and Jacob Stiele; great-granddaughter to be, Alisha Mae Stiele; sister, Margaret Kriese of Madison, MN; brother, Robert (Wanda) Eilers of Canby; and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Iver "Bud" and Johnie; and brother-in-law, Eldon Kriese.
