Marie Emilie Lentz, age 104, of Mankato, formerly of St. Clair, died Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Mankato House Health Care Center.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 26, 2009 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in St. Clair, with Rev. Larry Wiederich officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in St. Clair. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements. Memorials may be given to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Ladies Aide or donor's choice.

Marie was born on March 3, 1905 in McPherson Township, Blue Earth County to Albert and Mary (Kruse) Fitzloff. Marie attended and graduated from school in St. Clair and business classes at Father O' Conner's School. She was united in marriage to Elmer H. Lentz on September 28, 1927 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, St. Clair. Marie was a homemaker and also was employed with King Grocery in Pemberton and the drug store and post office in St. Clair. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in St. Clair, where she participated in the Ladies Aid. Marie was an adult leader of the Medoers 4-H Club, volunteered at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital, and was a member of the Pemberton Extension Club and St. Clair Senior Citizens. Marie enjoyed crocheting afghans and doilies, embroidering pillow cases, gardening, baking - especially rosettes, fishing in Northern Minnesota, traveling, and collecting teddy bears. Her first love was helping her husband on the farm.

Marie is survived by three nieces, Marion Drescher, LaVern (Burton) Williams, and Marilyn Walton; nephew, Charles (Beverly) Fitzloff; also many special grand nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer in 1972; and an infant daughter; sister, Sophia (August) Brandenburg; brothers, William Fitzloff, Louis (Minnie) Fitzloff, Carl (Lily) Fitzloff, and George (Ella) Fitzloff; nieces, Laura (Henry) Kelling and Donna (Don) Watson; nephews, Howard (Eileen) Fitzloff and Albert (Arlene) Fitzloff.
