Jeanette Martha (Freeberg) Wersal, age 90, of North Mankato, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 20, 2009 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Joel Erickson officiating. Private burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery, rural Mankato. Visitation will be held from 6 " 8 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church or ISJ Hospice Program.
Jeanette was born March 4, 1919 to Sylvester and Martha (Juhnke) Miller in Mankato. She attended Mankato High School. She married Gus Freeberg and later Henry Wersal. She was employed by Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Housekeeping for thirty years. Jeanette enjoyed gardening, her collection of dolls, decorating, making a lovely home, attending Grace Lutheran Church, her family, and especially her outings with Bruce.
Dearly loved by her four children, Roger (Rittie) Krueger of Hancock, WI, Bruce Freeberg of North Mankato, Carol Schwantes, Debra (Rev. Rich) Johnson all of St. Paul; eleven grandchildren, Andrea, Stephanie, Heather, Thad, Blake, Peter, Anna, Nik, Tanya, Jay, and Elissa; great-grandchildren; brother, Harold (Hilda) Miller of Dayton, OH; and extended family.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and one brother.
Her family wishes to thank the staff at Willow Point, Mankato House, Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital, and ISJ Hospice for their loving care and support.
