Viola A Pautsch

Lifetime resident of the Good Thunder area and longtime Good Thunder Bank employee, Viola Augusta Pautsch age 93, died Tuesday March 10, 2009 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, with Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer Jr. officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Good Thunder. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Sunday. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.

Viola was born on June 23, 1915 on the family farm in Lyra Township to Theodore and Amelia Pautsch, She was baptized at her parent's home on July 11, 1915. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church on April 1, 1928.

She attended Jewett School District # 92 and St. John Lutheran School. Viola graduated from Good Thunder High School as the co-valedictorian with her twin sister Verona in 1932. She attended Mankato Commercial College.

Viola was employed at First National Bank and First State Bank in Good Thunder as Head Cashier. She also served on the Board of Directors for the banks, was an insurance agent and also prepared income taxes.

Viola is survived by her sister, Lorraine Mueller; nieces, Renee Mathiason, Marilyn (Dave) Mathiason; nephew, Arvid (Jodi) Pautsch; great nephews, Sam (Ellen) Mathiason, Chris (Erin Bovendam) Mathiason, Matt Mathiason, Theo Pautsch; great niece, Michelle (Derek) Moore; great-great nieces and nephews, Sydney, Grace and Ryan Mathiason, Henry Mathiason; cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Amelia; twin sister, Verona, and brother William.
