Anita M. Bristol, age 86 of Lake Crystal, died Friday, March 2, 2007 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Madelia Church of Christ. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Madelia. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Anita was born February 27, 1921 in Bancroft, IA. She was the daughter of James and Mae (Brayton) Jenkins. Anita was a 1939 graduate of Lake Crystal High School. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Bristol on October 15, 1941. Anita was a homemaker for her family and assisted Lawrence with their farm. She also worked in retail sales and taught sewing for Singer Co. in Mankato. Anita was an active member of the Madelia Church of Christ, the Lake Crystal American Legion Auxiliary where she was past-president, the Lincoln Harmony Club, and Reach for Recovery. She enjoyed music, playing the organ, and sewing.
Anita is survived by three sons, James (Linda) Bristol of Mankato, David (Susan) Bristol of Columbia Heights, and Timothy (Lynn) Bristol of Blaine; one daughter, Marjorie Hoffman of Ingalls, IN; eight grandchildren, Kristie (Darren) Periman, Tara (David) Sims, Nicole (Nathan) Roark, Kenny (Kari) Bristol, Kurt Bristol, Karl (Beth) Bristol, Kayla Bristol, and Tracie Bristol; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nadine (Luverne) Meier of Papillion, NE and Alice (August) Johnson of Albert Lea; also numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence in 1984; and one sister, Velda Korsmo.
