Nancy Jo Ewert, age 55 of Mankato, died Wednesday, February 28, 2007 after a short battle with cancer at Immanuel St. Josephs Hospital with her family at her side.
A service will be held at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Mankato Mortuary, with Chaplain Jacek Soroka officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Saturday at the mortuary. A memorial service will be held later this spring at Dale Lutheran Church near Kenyon, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Eagles Club Annual Cancer Fundraiser.
Nancy was born February 7, 1952 to Phillip and Marcine (Wallaker) Langeness in Faribault. She grew up and attended school in Kenyon. Nancy married David Ewert at the third hole of the Kenyon Golf Course on June 30, 1995. They moved to Mankato where she started working for Carlson Craft in 2000 until November of 2006. She was a very active member of the Mankato Eagles Auxiliary where she was President from June 2005 to May 2006.
Nancy is survived by her husband, David Ewert of Mankato; son, Brent Way of Fargo, ND; mother, Marcine Langeness of Kenyon; two brothers, Darryl Langeness of Sterling Heights, MI and Peter Langeness of Faribault; sister, Lynn Eversman of Plainview; also one niece and five nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Phillip in 1978; brother, Stephan in 1997 and sister, Jaqueline in 2004.
