Glenn Bud Briley, age 76 of Mankato, died peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday, February 16, 2007.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato, with Rev. Brian Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Monday at Mankato Mortuary, with a 7:30 p.m. rosary service. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to an organization of the donors choice.
Glenn Charles Bud Briley was born March 12, 1930 in Ames, IA. He was the son of Glenn Sr. and Esther (Gerdts) Briley. Bud attended school in Janesville, MN. He was united in marriage to Betty Muellerleile on April 22, 1953 in Madison Lake. Bud was employed with Central Concrete for 39 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Bud enjoyed gardening, cooking, music, and was a fan of Minnesota sports.
Bud is survived by his wife, Betty of Mankato; nine children, Gloria (Ron) Enzenauer of Prior Lake, Jerry (Bev) Briley of Rosemount, Barb Monson and special friend, Todd Sterry of Apple Valley, Karen (Scott) Austad of Mankato, Pattie Briley of Rosemount, Carol (Mark) Parsley of Mapleton, Linda (Mike) Chabot of Kasota, Mike Briley of North Mankato, and Tim Briley and special friend, Bruce Oliver of St. James; 32 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Betty Ashpole of Savage and Dorothy (Larry) Peters of White Bear Lake; one brother, Bill (Joan) Briley of Eagle Lake; also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, Carter.
