Georgia Ann Davidson, age 58 of North Mankato died Saturday, February 10, 2007 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital.
Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Christ the King Lutheran Church with Pastor John Petersen officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Tuesday February 13, 2007 at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before the service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Georgia was born on February 28, 1948 to Sidney and Elva (Frank) Spangenberg in New Ulm, Minnesota. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1966 and from Mankato State University in 1970. Georgia was united in marriage to Roger Davidson on October 21, 1972 at St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mankato. She worked as a teacher for Mankato School District # 77, where she taught 3rd grade for Kennedy Elementary School in Mankato. Georgia was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato.
Georgias passion was teaching. She also loved being a mom, spending time at the cabin, playing cards, dancing, cooking, knitting, and being with friends and family.
Georgia is survived by her husband of 34 years, Roger Davidson of North Mankato; four children, Matthew Davidson of Mankato, Melissa Davidson of Woodbury, Wendy Davidson of Woodbury, Ann Davidson of North Mankato; father, Sid and his wife, Betty Spangenberg of Mankato; sister, Kay (Dan) Ekenstredt of Mankato; brother, Alan (Mary) Spangenberg of Poughkeepsie, NY; step-sisters: Laurie Oftedahl, Connie (Mike) McCullough; step-brothers: Butch (Kathy) Oftedahl, Danny (Karen) Oftedahl, Dean (Ruth) Oftedahl; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, and Paul Spangenberg.
