Evelyn Mae (Fenske) McQuiston, age 98, of Mankato, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2009 in the chapel of Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Joel Erickson officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. A private family burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah, WI. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to the Humane Society, Alzheimer's Association or Cancer Society. Arrangements are being handled by Mankato Mortuary.
Evelyn was born on November 11, 1910 and baptized on December 25, 1910 to Fred and Henrietta (Burns) Fenske at Tomah, WI, where she grew up and attended school. She was united in marriage to Claude "Rusty" McQuiston of Alma, WI on April 17, 1928 in Wabasha, MN. She was a homemaker for her family. Evelyn was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 141, Winona, MN, and the Blue Earth/Nicollet County Humane Society.
Evelyn is survived by a son, Elwood "Al" and his wife, Margaret of Mankato; two granddaughters, Coreen Truman of Waupaca, WI and Leslie McQuiston of Burnsville; three great-granddaughters and spouses, Erica and Gunar Gossard of Minneapolis, Eleanor and Dr. Peter Schmidt of Fairfield, CT, and Meagan and Jacob Waller of Waupaca, WI; one great-grandson, Aaron Truman of Portland, OR; six great-great-granddaughters, Nora and Maren Gossard, Elizabeth, Riley, and Lucy Schmidt, and Natalie Waller; one great-great-grandson, Oliver Waller.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Rusty in 1993 and her parents.
