Lloyd Thomas Jones, age 91, of Lake Crystal, died Sunday, February 15, 2009 at his home in Lake Crystal.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at the Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Memorials may be given to ISJ Hospice, First Presbyterian Church, or an organization of the donor's choice.
Lloyd was born August 10, 1917 to Thomas "Colorado" and Agnes Jane (Williams) Jones on the family farm in Butternut Township, Blue Earth County, MN. Lloyd was united in marriage June 26, 1943 to Vivian A. Jones at Jerusalem Presbyterian Church, Judson Township. Lloyd began farming at a young age on the family farm and remained on the farm until moving to Lake Crystal in 1978. He was a member of the Butternut Township Board, Lake Crystal Planning and Zoning Committee, Lake Crystal Shipping Association, and the Lake Crystal Lions Club, of which he was a past president. He was an Elder and Deacon at Jerusalem Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal. Lloyd enjoyed his farm, family genealogy, and was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Vivian; six children, Dave (Jackie) Jones of rural Lake Crystal, Cindy (Don) Stansbery of Sheldon, ND, Dan (Pat) Jones of rural Lake Crystal, Mike Jones of Eden Prairie, Karen (Tony) Golden of Fairfield, PA, and Lori Jones of Lincoln, NE; twelve grandchildren, Eric Jones, Ryan (Malia) Jones, Adam (Mackenzie) Jones, Bill (Dana) Stansbery, Patrick (Charly) Stansbery, Anna Stansbery, Aaron Jones and fianc", Rachel Wede, Katie (Tony) Parsons, Kara (Jason) Pahl, Kelly Jones, John Jones, and Matthew Jones; four great-grandchildren, Mason, Leah, and Maya Jones, Nettie Parsons; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ruth (Harold) Larson, Enid (Tony) Tiedeken, Lillian (Harold) Hansen.
