Irma Dorella Jacobsen, age 85 of Eagle Lake, died, Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Mankato House in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 16, 2009 at Hilltop United Methodist Church in Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Mankato Mortuary with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Monday. Burial will follow the service at Eagle Lake Cemetery.
Irma was born April 28, 1923 to Rudolf and Nora (Fischer) Hinz in Vivian Township, Waseca County, MN. She graduated from Waldorf High School. Irma was united in marriage to John H. Jacobsen in Mankato in 1948. She was an office clerk for F.W. Woolworth for the better part of thirty-five years in Mankato. Irma was a member of Hilltop United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Club in Mankato. She enjoyed making ceramics, feeding the cats and birds by her home and loved flowers.
Irma is survived by her son, Daryl Jacobsen of Eagle Lake; step-daughter, Beverly Kopischke of North Mankato; two step-sons, Marlin of Loveland, CO, LaVern of Longmount, CO; ten grandchildren, Rory, Monty, Jeff, Kim, Jody, Eric, Chad, Kimberly Ann, Johnnie Jay, Julie Ann and many great-grandchildren.
Irma was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; stepson, Dean Jacobsen; daughter-in-law, Janice Jacobsen; son-in-law, Harvey Kopischke and one sister, Ruth Lohberger.
