Enid M Sylvester

Enid (Gutterud) Sylvester has completed her life journey with her husband, Jack, and children, Matt and Sarah, present at her bedside caring for her. Enid succumbed to cancer January 28, 2007 at age 59 at her home in North Mankato.

Raised in Park River, ND by loving parents Melvin and Margaret Gutterud, Enid graduated from WCAS in 1965. She and her family have been a part of the Mankato community since 1978.

Enid is loved and will be missed by family, friends, and co-workers. She contributed to the lives of all who knew her as a companion, mother, grandmother, friend and mentor. Enid worked for many years in Human resources at the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center, where she defined the departments role of helping workers. Her interests were as varied as her legion of friends. She thrived while on Northwood retreats, excursions on the Mississippi, at the bridge table and in the company of her grandson, MacKenzie.

There will be a visitation on Thursday afternoon from 4:00-7:00PM at the Mankato Mortuary. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, February 2 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 720 South Second Street, Mankato, MN. Memorials can be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, or a charity of your choice.
