Ronald William Peterson, age 76 of Mankato, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at his winter home in Lake Havasu, AZ.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Centenary United Methodist Church. Burial will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2007 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to Centenary United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.

Ron was born September 20, 1930 to Rev. William E. and Claire (Farnum) Peterson. Ron was a member of the United States Navy from 1950-1954 during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Patricia A. Haynes on August 31, 1952 in Aitkin, MN. Ron later went on to graduate from Hamline University in St. Paul. He was the Merchandise Manager and Vice President of Bretts Company in Mankato for many years. He was a long time member of Centenary United Methodist Church, the Mankato Ys Men, and the Aitkin VFW and American Legion. Ron, along with Pat loved international travel and had in recent years been to Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, and Europe. Ron also enjoyed spending time at the lake, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pat of Mankato; daughter, Deb (Keith) Randa of Prior Lake; sons, Dave (Carol) Peterson of Waynesville, NC, Bruce (Nancy) Peterson of West St. Paul, Phil (Susan) Peterson of Apopka, FL, Brad (Chandra) Peterson of Lino Lakes; eleven grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Vernon Peterson.
