Raymond Thorson

Raymond Ole O. Thorson, age 80, of Mankato, died Friday, December 22, 2006 at Immanuel St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapidan with Rev. William Meiers officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in Rapidan. Visitation will be held from 4 " 7 p.m., Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapidan, World Hunger Organization, or to the donors choice.

Raymond was born July 2, 1926 in Mankato. He was the son of Ole and Anna (Hall) Thorson. Raymond was united in marriage to Kathryn Mutch on April 12, 1951 in Mankato. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1945 " 1946. Raymond was employed with N.S.P. in Mankato. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapidan and also the Summit Center in Mankato. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, Summit Singers, and being outdoors.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Kathryn of Mankato; three sons, Myron (Kandy) Thorson of Austin, TX, Lowell Thorson of Judson, and Kenneth (Lisa) Thorson of rural Lake Crystal; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor Knutson of Mankato..

He was preceded in death by his parents.
