Lois Viola Theissen, age 89 of North Mankato, died Monday, December 18, 2006 at Immanuel St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Paul Meierding officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Lois was born on January 18, 1917 to Harry and Nell (Tuttle) Seward in Jackson, Minnesota. She graduated from high school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and continued her education at South Central Technical School where she studied to be a nurses aid. She was united in marriage to Vernon Theissen on October 26, 1957 in St. Peter, Minnesota. She was employed at Immanuel Hospital as a nurses aid for over ten years. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed walking, camping, politics and reading. She also loved animals and visiting with friends. Lois loved children, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Lois is survived by four children, Pat Rollings of Elysian, Kimberly (Jim) Thompson of Muskego, WI, Joe Theissen of Washington D.C., Brian (Paula) Theissen of North Mankato; grandchildren, Mindy (Don) Kelley, Scott (Dawn) Rollings, Brianna and Ryan Theissen, Harry Thompson; great-grandchildren, Josh (Alana) Kelley, Becky (Scott) Brewer; great-great-grandchildren, Jersie and Kale Kelley.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son-in-law, Harlan Rollings; great-granddaughter, Allison; one brother, Alan; and step-father, Arthur Habinger.
