Louis Kamas, age 82, of Lake Crystal, died Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Fairview Northland Hospital in Princeton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 14, 2006 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Louis was born on November 19, 1924 in Iowa. He was the son of Joseph and Peggy (Haddy) Kamas. Louis attended Lake Crystal High School. He joined the U.S. Army and fought during WWII in the South Pacific Islands. Upon his return from the war, he became an entrepreneur owning an implementation shop. He then continued working with real estate in the Lake Crystal area. Louis enjoyed fishing, especially for walleye, playing practical jokes, and telling stories of his experiences. Above all else he enjoyed a great Lebanese meal.
Louis is survived by a niece, Bridget Kamas and her husband, Michael Reiland; great niece, Alexandra Reiland; one brother, George Kamas; four sisters, Darlene Dibs, Julia Skaff, Lucille Frazier, and Helen Kamas; also other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Michael and Eugene Kamas; and two sisters, Dorothy Kamas and Adele Shalhoob.
He will be missed most of all by Alexandra who enjoyed cookies and Pepsi with her Great Uncle Louie.
