Dennis Paul Hodapp, age 88 of Mankato, died peacefully at home with his family on Saturday, November 25, 2006.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Ted Hottinger, S.J. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Mankato Mortuary with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donors choice.

Dennis was born in rural Mankato on July 19, 1918 to Joseph and Mary (Materne) Hodapp. He graduated from St. Clair High School. He married his wife Charlotte Roemer on February 14, 1944 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Mankato.

Dennis farmed a Century Farm in rural Mankato until he retired. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Eagles Club. He served as President of the Blue Earth County Farm Bureau and Supervisor of Lime Township. He was a 4-H leader for the Peppy Wahoo 4-H Club and coached the fast pitch softball team. He drove the Loyola High School bus to school sporting events and was an usher at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, raised wildlife on his farm, and enjoyed playing the concertina.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlotte; his seven children, Joan (Rick) Flad Kaiser, Pat (Roger) Borgmeier, and Shirley (Tony) Baker of Mankato, Gary (Robin) Hodapp and Arlene (Mark) Herzberg all of Madison Lake, Dale (Vicky) Hodapp of Jacksonville, FL, and Diane Hodapp of Carolina Beach, NC; 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Sohler and Mildred (Cliff) Fossen of Mankato.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Cletus, Alfred and Earl Hodapp; one grandson, Andrew; and two sons-in-law.
