Clayton James Schulte, age 89 of Mankato, died Friday, November 24, 2006 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. Karl Voelker S.J. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour before services at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Schola Foundation. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Clayton was born December 22, 1916 to Joseph and Rose (McGinn) Schulte in Great Falls, MT. After his mothers death in 1918, the family moved to Mankato. He married Patricia Wheeler at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church on April 30, 1945. He worked with his father and brothers, and then owned Schultes Auto Body and Paint Shop. He served in the US Army for two years during World War II. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and golf.
Clayton is survived by his wife, Patricia of Mankato; two daughters, Jane (Mike) LaMont of Minnetonka, MN, Barbara (Henry) Greve of Kissimmee, FL; three grandsons, and four nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
