John H. Lanier, age 59, of Eagle Lake, died Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Mankato Mortuary, with Rev. John Petersen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Mankato.
John was born on February 28, 1947 in Temple, TX. He was the son of Ben and Velma (Fuller) Lanier. John was a graduate of Mankato West High School and later from Mankato State University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. John was united in marriage to Sharon Robinson on September 10, 1974 in Mankato. He was a member of VFW Post 950 and enjoyed coin collecting, hunting, and fishing.
John is survived by his wife, Sharon of Eagle Lake; daughter, Christy Lanier and her fianc, Josh Gale of Mankato; mother, Velma (Andrew) Brink of Grand Meadow; and also two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Jim.
