Mildred Griffiths

Mildred P. Griffiths, age 93, of Mankato and formerly of Lake Crystal, died Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Laurels Edge in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2006 at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal, with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery, rural Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4 " 7 p.m., Sunday at the Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before services at the church in Monday.

Mildred was born October 6, 1913 to Walter and Blanche (Cleveland) Othoudt in Lake Crystal. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School. Mildred was united in marriage to John J. Griffiths on December 5, 1939 in Lake Crystal. She attended Carmel Church in rural Lake Crystal where she was treasure for many years and taught Sunday school. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal. Mildred had belonged to Extension group, Mankato YWCA, Mankato Area Antique Club, and womens association in church. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, and nurturing her family.

Mildred is survived by two sons, Edward (Lona) Griffiths of rural Cleveland, Alan J. (Elaine) Griffiths of rural Lake Crystal; one daughter Jane Griffiths of Mankato; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Francys Wigley of rural Lake Crystal and Geraldine Jerri Johnson of Mankato; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2005, two sisters, and one brother.
