Clara E. Frenzel, age 76, of Mankato, died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Hillcrest Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church in North Mankato, with Rev. Bart Fletcher officiating. Interment will be in Eagle Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Legion Post 11 or to the donors choice.

Clara was born June 19, 1930 at home in Madison Lake. She was the daughter of Aaron and Elsie (Terrell) Charlesworth. She attended a country school close to her home in rural Madison Lake. Clara married Donald Frenzel, Sr. on September 25, 1946 at the Methodist Church of Eagle Lake. She was a homemaker, and also worked many years at Birdseye, Mankato Corp, Midtex, and sold Tupperware. Clara was a past President of the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion Post 11. She was a member of the Mankato Moose Lodge Auxiliary and the Morson-Ario Auxiliary. Clara enjoyed being outdoors fishing and camping. She also enjoyed playing the organ, collecting bells and eagles, crocheting, and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Clara is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald Frenzel, Sr.; daughter, Judith (Steven) Johnson of Nicollet; three sons, Richard Frenzel of New Ulm, Roger (Phyllis) Frenzel of St. James, and Donald Frenzel, Jr. and his special friend, JoDee Steffl of Mankato; five grandchildren, Vanessa (Brian) Petty, Darin Frenzel, Keith Frenzel, Brian Frenzel, and Tim Frenzel and his special friend, Leah Aust; five step grandchildren, Chad (Rachel) Johnson, Ross (Laura) Johnson, Lori (Darrin) Campbell, Brad Dewall, and Curt Dewall; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; two half brothers; and one half sister.
