Julie M. Lorentz, age 55 of Eagle Lake, died Monday, November 6, 2006 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eagle Lake, with Rev. Mary Iverson officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the M.S. Society.
Julie was born on December 22, 1950 in Baldwin, WI. She was the daughter of Maynard and Marveda Larson. Julie was a 1969 graduate of Baldwin-Woodville High School. She received her B.S. degree in Music from the University of Wisconsin " Eau Claire. Julie was united in marriage to William Bill Lorentz on June 25, 1977 in Spring Valley, WI. They later divorced in 1999. Julie was employed as a high school music teacher in Grantsburg, WI and locally in Cleveland, St. Peter, and St. Clair. She was currently employed with I.R.G., a TaylorCorp Co. in North Mankato. Julie was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eagle Lake, where she served on the church council and was employed as a church organist and senior choir director. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Julie enjoyed music, teaching piano, her church activities, and gardening.
Julie is survived by her two daughters, Sarah (David) Hendley and Melissa Lorentz, all of Mankato; one sister, Karen (Dave) Wolslegel of Washburn, WI; three brothers, Les (Karen) Larson, Gary Larson and special friend, Diane Johnson, and Kevin (Barb) Larson, all of Baldwin, WI; ex-husband, Bill Lorentz of Mankato; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend, Bill Leichtman of Oscoda, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Nancy; and two brothers, Jeffrey and Steve.
