Evelyn Edwards

Evelyn E. Edwards, age 90, of rural Mankato, died Friday, October 20, 2006 at Immanuel " St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal, with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery, rural Mankato. Visitation will be from 5 " 7 p.m. on Monday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church.

Evelyn was born on July 30, 1916 in Butternut Township, Blue Earth County, MN. She was the daughter of Clark and Hazel (Sawyer) Scott. Evelyn was a 1936 graduate of Lake Crystal High School. She was united in marriage to Ben Edwards on January 21, 1939 in Mankato. Evelyn was a homemaker for her family. She also assisted her husband in their mink business until 1964 and from then on farming. Evelyn enjoyed driving and showing Shetland and Hackney ponies at fairs and competitions. She was an avid golfer into her 80s, and also enjoyed watching the Twins, Vikings, and golf. Evelyn loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Stan (Judie) Edwards of rural Mankato; daughter, Marilyn (Charles) Robinson of Lake Crystal; five grandchildren, Jodi (Tom) Dahms, Scott (Lisa) Roberts, Rita (Joe) Paulsen, Jay (Dawn) Edwards, Stacey (Brian) Jones; three great- grandchildren, Logan and Cole Dahms, and Chance Jeffrey Jones; two sisters, Dolores Spreter of North Mankato and Penny (Mike) Madsen of Mankato; also nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ben in 1988; grandson, Jeff Edwards in 1987; son-in-law, Dave Roberts in 1992; three brothers, Berwyn Scotty , Curtis, and Gene; one sister, Margaret.
