Marcella K Segerstrom

Marcella Katherine Segerstrom, age 97 of Mankato, went on to be with Jesus, Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2009 at Crossview Covenant Church, 2000 Howard Drive West, North Mankato with Rev. Kevin Melin officiating. Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls, WI. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the donor's choice. Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Drive, Mankato, is in charge of arrangements.

Marcella was born June 19, 1911 to George and Margaret (Kaiser) Standfest in Mankato. She attended school in Mankato. Marcella was united in marriage to Waldo M. Segerstrom on February 10, 1945 in St. Paul. Marcella was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church, currently Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato for many years. She enjoyed sewing fancy dresses for her special dolls, was an excellent cook and loved to host large dinners, enjoyed playing the piano and very faithfully read her bible each morning which gave her strength.

Marcella is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Craig) Panning of Richfield, MN.

Marcella was preceded in death by her infant son, Malcolm Segerstrom; her husband, Waldo; parents; one brother, Anthony Standfest; one sister, Ann Standfest.
