Lucille A Buland

Lucille Ann Buland, age 88, of Mankato died, Sunday February 1, 2009 at Laurel's Edge Assisted Living, Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Hosanna Lutheran Church, Mankato with Pastor Steve Kosberg officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at church. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Lucille Ann was born on March 29, 1920 in Gibbon to Arthur and Esther (Ringstorf) Meyer. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1938 and then attended Mankato Commercial College before working in the US Treasury Department in Chicago from 1942-45 during the war. Lucille was united in marriage to Bert Buland on December 7, 1945 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato. After marriage she worked at the library at Mankato State and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. She was a charter member of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato in 1972. She enjoyed playing bridge and schafskopf.

Lucille is survived by two children, Barbara Hansen and husband, David of Kaukauna, WI, William Buland and wife, Janice of Fairfax, VA; granddaughters, Lisa Hansen and fianc", Dan Ekrem and Julie Hansen and fianc", Justin Marchant; nieces and nephews.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Berton in 1981; four sisters, Evelyn Schostag, Esther Hermel, Milly Nelson, and Lorraine Christensen.

Lucille's family would like to thank Laurel's Edge for all the special care she received.
We mourn her departure from us but rejoice at her entrance into heaven.
