Anoka County Deputy Sheriff, Tony Fitzloff, age 50, of Brooklyn Park and formerly of St. Clair died unexpectedly, January 21, 2009 at Unity Hospital, Fridley.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 24, 2009 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, St. Clair. Visitation will be from 4 " 8 p.m., Friday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Tony was born September 6, 1958 to Eugene A. and Ramona (Hager) Fitzloff in St. Peter. He graduated from St. Clair High School in 1976. He worked for the family business, Fitzloff Electric while going to Mankato State University where he received his B.S. Degree in Law Enforcement in 1981. He was employed in security for the Federal Building at Ft. Snelling in St. Paul and has been employed as a Deputy Sheriff for Anoka County since November 1990. He was also a defensive driving instructor for Anoka County Sheriff Department. Tony was united in marriage to Cheryl Keyes in 1984, they were later divorced. He was a former member of the St. Clair Fire Department. Tony enjoyed fishing, water skiing, and spending time at the cabin.
Tony is survived by two sons, Mike Fitzloff and Tim Fitzloff both of Brooklyn Park; special friend, Sheila Hughes of Wyoming, MN; two brothers, Bill Fitzloff and Harold Fitzloff; sister, Ellen Fitzloff all of St. Clair; former wife, Cheryl Fitzloff of Plymouth; aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Eugene in 1981 and mother, Ramona in 2003.
