Bruce Carter Eggers, age 55, of Mankato, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in North Mankato, with Rev. Roger Knepprath officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to the Harry Meyering Center.
Bruce was born on May 26, 1953 in Mankato. He was the son of Thomas and Clara (Olson) Eggers. Bruce was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in North Mankato. He attended school in Lime Valley and also the Special Ed. Dept. of Mankato East High School. Bruce moved to the Harry Meyering Center in 1974. He was employed with MRCI for over thirty years. Bruce was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, where he participated in the Jesus Cares Program. He enjoyed dancing, bowling, and watching sports.
Bruce is survived by one sister, Barbara (William) Miller of Mankato; two brothers, Darrel (Georgia) Eggers of Mankato and Dean (Clara) Eggers of North Mankato; also many nieces, nephews, and their families; one aunt, Violet Nordling of Litchfield. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bruce will be missed by his housemates and caregivers at the Harry Meyering Center and his coworkers at MRCI.
