Roger J. Schaub age 75 of Madison Lake died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake with Rev. Syl Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Madison Lake. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at All Saints Catholic Church with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to an organization of the donor's choice.
Roger Joseph Schaub was born January 9, 1934 to Oscar and Catherine (Vaughan) Schaub in Mankato. Roger was a 1951 Mankato High School graduate. On June 2, 1956, he was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Jacobs at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. They made their home in Madison Lake and raised five children, Terry Lee, Barbara Jeanne, Kelly Ann, Casey John, and Tammy Marie. Roger's occupations included Archer Daniels Midland mill worker, Madison Lake Creamery, jobber for Cities Service, Citgo, and Gulf Oil, all prior to his self employment with Schaub Oil Co. Roger retired in 1984 due to a vision disability.
Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley of Madison Lake; four children, Terry Lee Schaub and wife, Terry Lynn of Houston, MN, Barbara Worrell of Madison Lake, Casey Schaub and wife, Marna of Madison Lake, Tammy Telford and husband, Kevin of Waconia; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Florence Sheppard of Madison Lake, Steven Schaub of Madison Lake, Ethel (Harold) Haley of Owatonna, Dan (Delilah) Schaub of Colera, OK, Robert (Vernelle) Schaub of Rochester, John (Charlene) Schaub of Pablo, MT, Sharon (Robert) Hartung of Edina; sister-in-law, Susan Schaub; two brothers-in-law, Leland (Dot) Jacobs of Madison Lake, Patrick (Carol) Jacobs of Prior Lake; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Catherine; daughter, Kelly Ann; brother, Wally Schaub; and great-grandsons, Colin and Zander Dostert.
