Sheila (Meagher) Miller, age 71 of Mankato, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2009 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. Ted Hottinger S. J. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4 " 7 p.m., Friday at Mankato Mortuary. Memorials may be given to SIDS or the donor's choice.
Sheila was born June 29, 1937 to Jeremiah and Agnes (Kopp) Meagher in Mankato. She was raised in Marysburg and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1955. She was united in marriage to Jerry Miller on October 26, 1958 in Marysburg. She worked at the Century Club and later at V.F.W. 950 of Mankato for over 30 years. Sheila was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping, boating, and spending time with family and friends at the lake. Sheila was proud of her Irish heritage and was a descendent of the original settlers of Marysburg.
Sheila is survived by six children, Tim (Celia) Miller and their children, Talon, Kivalina, and Willow of Bird Creek, Alaska; Thomas (Jill) Miller and their children, Cassidy and Riley of rural Mankato; Terry (Deb) Miller and their children, Jeremiah "J.T." and Jake of Mankato; Tami (Paul) Knutson and their children, Kevin, Cole, Kelly, and Christian of Mankato; Tracy (Gary) McIntyre and their children, Megan Miller, Mollie, and Maggie of Mankato; Todd Miller of Bird Creek, Alaska; sister, Marge Miller of Mankato; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be missed by her family, friends, and special friend, Gary Riese.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerome on January 2, 2001; granddaughter Katie; one brother Jerrold; one sister Donna Longenecker.
