Theresa Marcella Killion, age 97 of Mankato died, Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2009 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. Burial will be in St. Casimir Cemetery in Wells. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Memorials may be given to an organization of the donor's choice
Theresa Marcella Killion was born on October 15, 1911 to George and Alice (Lutz) Bentley in Medo Township, Mapleton, MN. She was a Minnesota Lake High School and Mankato Commercial College graduate. Theresa married George W. Killion on November 4, 1934. They farmed south west of Wells. After her husband's death in 1953, Theresa managed the farm until she moved to Mankato in 1966. Theresa worked at Green Stamp Redemption Center, Lewis Eastgate, and Hallmark Cards in Madison East until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Theresa enjoyed flowers, gardening and playing cards.
Theresa is survived by one daughter, Rita Bushlack of Longmont, CO; four sons, Jim (Florence) of Mankato, David (Kathy) of Wells, Dennis of Apple Valley, Jerry (Mary) of Mankato; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Oscar, George, and Glen Bentley; five sisters, Marie Anderson, Charlotte Morris, Loretta Manthei, Virginia Beise, and Gladys Sonnek.
