Harold Charles Postels, age 98, of Mankato died Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at Hillcrest Health Care Center.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2006 at Mankato Mortuary Chapel. Burial with military honors will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before service on Friday.
Harold was born February 27, 1908 to Albert and Mae (Scheibel) Postels in Mankato. He was united in marriage to Alice Muetzel on December 6, 1929. Harold served his country during World War II from 1943-1945 in the U.S. Army, 87th Division, 3rd Army. He served under General Patton during the Battle of the Bulge. Harold was employed as a truck driver for Johnson Laundry, Mankato Bottling Company, and City Club Beverages for 20 years retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Madison Lake American Legion and VFW. He loved fishing and hunting.
Harold is survived by a neice, Margaret Derner and husband, Willard of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice in 1962 and a sister, Dorothy in 1934.
