Gladys Lee, age 89, of Lake Crystal died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at the Mapleton Community Home.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at First United Methodist Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Debbie King Quale, officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Gladys was born September 26, 1917 in Lake Crystal, Minnesota to Clyde and Ella (Anderson) Smith. She attended and graduated from Lake Crystal High School. On February 21, 1939, she was united in marriage to James Lee in Algona, Iowa. They made their home and raised their family in Lake Crystal. Gladys was a nurses aid at Lake Crystal Health Care Center for 20 years, retiring in 1979. Gladys was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lake Crystal. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gladys is survived by her two daughters, Patricia (Donald) Schmidt of Mankato and Judy Lucier of rural Mankato; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1981 a sister and a brother.
