Catherine Ann Pruett, age 43, of Mankato died Friday, September 22, 2006 at her home.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Evangelical Covenant Church, North Mankato, with Rev. Kevin Melin, officiating. Burial will be in Fairbury Cemetery, Fairbury, Nebraska. Visitation will be from 5:30 " 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to Compassion International.
Catherine was born March 16, 1963 to Bruce and Lu (Pfister) Ackerman in Beatrice, NE. She graduated from Fairbury High School in 1981. She attended the University of Nebraska and graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan College with a major in Psychology and Art History. She was united in marriage to Michael Pruett on June 6, 1987 in Omaha, NE. Catherine was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, was aBible Study Fellowship leader, was a church youth leader, and a member of P.E.O. Catherine will be remembered for her beautiful voice and her quick wit. She enjoyed playing the piano and clarinet, gardening, and making her own jewelry. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Catherine had a natural way of drawing people to her.
Catherine is survived by her husband, Michael; two children, Jacob and Jennifer all of Mankato; parents, Bruce and Lu Ackerman of Fairbury, NE; two brothers, Dr. Anthony Ackerman of Iowa City, IA, John Ackerman and his wife Victoria of Poplar Ridge, NY; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Merl and Barb Pruett of Cherokee, IA; two brothers-in-law, Matt Pruett of Cherokee, IA, Mitch Pruett and his wife Mikeala of Sioux Falls, SD; nieces and nephews, Samuel and Emma Ackerman, Nolan and Taylor Pruett.
